@chrishubbs.com That scripture text makes a whole lot more sense in my current Episcopal Eucharistic environment compared to the evangelical one I grew up in.
@chrishubbs.com We have a big Czech community here in Cedar Rapids. One of the Catholic churches has a kolache festival every year. Yum.
@chrishubbs.com Never heard of it, but now I’m going to have to look it up! Thanks for the recommendation!
@chrishubbs.com I have gotten proficient at various breads the past few years, so I’m hoping that’ll translate over to these today. No pressure; my wife is tolerant of my cooking and my daughter has already declared she won’t eat them. 😂
@chrishubbs.com In Nebraska bierocks got fast-food-ized under the brand name “Runza”. Apparently it’s a specific enough appeal that the chain has never made it even over into Iowa.
@joshuapsteele I've been the pianist doing that music so many times. Aesthetically I enjoy it as a vibe. Now being an Episcopalian and hearing prayers and Scripture reading w/o the ambient "vibe" I find myself focusing better on the words.

@fab.church Oh bother.
@joshuapsteele I know when I replied to this yesterday it was basically in the negative... but I'd be game for starting a group chat if you want. Looks like we've got plenty in common, and I'll bet there are more of us disillusioned theology & tech nerds... lemme know if you're interested.
@joshuapsteele We have 3 or 4 families with younger kids, and a couple more (including me) with teens. It still tilts older, but we're making the effort to still have kids ministries available every week and it's encouraging to see at least some coming consistently.
@drewkadel.bsky.social Oh man, I need to pull that out for a re-read. I love Stringfellow.
