@adamprocter Love it! When I was a kid our water company used to have a huge one of those at the home show every year. I’ve been fascinated by them ever since.

@chrishubbs.com I get that all iOS devs are in the middle of Liquid Glass-driven rewrites. But this big a regression to a feature I paid good money for is very disappointing.

@chrishubbs.com Oh gosh, what a horrible place to be… but what a beautiful thought. Thank you. ❤️

@mwerickson Hmmm, this was worth thinking about.

  • My parents (this is double-edged… they took us deep into fundamentalism but that’s where my love of the Bible and of study came from)

I went to engineering school and my faith life has largely then been influenced by my reading. So, these authors, the first two of whom I’ve briefly met in person but who were influential through their books:

  • NT Wright (whose writing started my trek out of fundamentalism)
  • Brad Jersak (who helped break me out of penal substitutionary atonement)
  • Ilia Delio (who challenged me to think about how modern cosmology should influence my view of Christianity)

Finally I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Matt Tebbe and Ben Sternke (they seem to come as a package) - these guys lead Gravity Commons and ran a retreat on grief a couple years ago that really helped keep me going at a time when I was exhausted with everything.

@liss This is friggin’ awesome. Bonus points for the choice of audio.

@chrishubbs.com I’ve never explicitly said that before. It’s hard to acknowledge. There was a scale of abuse; they looked with dismay at another homeschool family that kept kitchen cabinets locked, which was over the line. But repeated daily spankings with wooden spoons, on young children? Godly and necessary. Oof.

@joshuapsteele Good luck on the 5K! Assuming my 10K goes well in a couple weeks I want to make a more concerted effort at training next year. This year has been just ad hoc runs at paces and distances I felt like. Following a real plan might help me actually improve.

@eaton.fyi Ooh, that’s my plan when my Synology gets a little longer in the tooth. Probably have another couple years.
