@chrishubbs.com Yes indeed. Officially two hours into the first day of driving right now.
@jabel We probably did! I was in that orbit for a while back in the day. Small world.
@todd There are times when it would be nice if her business involved products that were… lighter. But she enjoys it and is starting to pick up some steam in our area. Fun to see it work for her.
@jabel That’s really her favorite part of it. Started as a personal hobby and then became a business when she needed to get rid of some. 😂
@jabel Wagner is another good old brand. Obligatory link to my wife’s site: back2lifecastiron.com
@jabel My wife runs a small business rehabilitating old cast iron so I’ve handled a lot of it. The older stuff, e.g., Griswold, is indeed a lot lighter than modern Lodge.
@drose Congrats! That’s us two weeks from now. Where did the time go?
@joshuapsteele Nice! Link logging is something that I’ve always felt like I wanted to do but I never get consistent enough with it and it languishes. And huzzah for publishing an RSS feed. I’ll add it to Inkwell. :-)
@JohnPhilpin Bad for both!
@josie.zone I got my old music library added to Plex a couple months back. It’s such a rush… so much good music to rediscover. (And a few clunkers… what was I thinking?)
@chrishubbs.com It’s not out of the realm of possibility! 😂She’s a lovely person and I’m glad she can come to visit. I know my wife will enjoy having her around especially while I’m gone. My wife was just expecting a little more time to get things done prior to her arrival. Oh well.
@chrishubbs.com This is the book; the paragraph didn’t name names.
@scottagunn.bsky.social Leave ‘em in the dust so fast they’ll become Shook Shack.
@scottagunn.bsky.social Scutt Gonn?
@todd I’m fully in the Apple ecosystem at this point, so I’m using iCloud and the Apple photo library with family sharing. Absent that, I’d probably self-host, though I’ve not found a self-hosted solution I really love yet. I’ve tried Synology photos (meh). Immich would be my next try.
@chrisaldrich Oh that’s lovely. An old card catalog chest is one of my bucket list pieces of furniture, though I don’t really know what I’d do with it. Simply love the old library memories.
@drose I wasn’t feeling great about my 4 but we can chalk it up as a #YoungPups win. TGIF!

@drose I alternately loved and was very frustrated with Javy Baez when he was a Cub. But mostly loved him.
@emily.gorcen.ski Sounds like somebody’s planting the story to goose the stock price, make their profit, and get out.
@mtrkdjoyce.bsky.social Yes! It’s been a helpful framework for me to make sure I was good with my backup scheme.
@mtrkdjoyce.bsky.social Yep, exactly. I think diverse backups are your best insurance there, and while it’s a hassle, physically connecting a flash drive, backing up, and then disconnecting it until next time is probably the strongest option.
@mtrkdjoyce.bsky.social What threats are you protecting from? Local backups are always a good idea. A linux PC that’s airgapped is secure but… not a particularly useful tool?
@chrishubbs.com Get it before she retires and get the education discount! 😄 Sure seems like it’s plenty good enough for basic browsing, video, standard desktop apps. I’m planning to use it as an iPad Pro replacement.
