Orchestra choir rehearsal yesterday afternoon means I’ve had Mozart’s Requiem in my head all day today so far.

I mean, there are worse things…

2025 Reads: The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt 📚

I’m only a decade behind on reading this one… phew, what a book. Sprawling, messy, and transcendent.

2025 Reads: Polostan by Neal Stephenson 📚

Watching the Arkansas/Kansas game. So far as I can tell, there’s one player named “Boogie Flan” and another one named “Badoonga”. It sounds like a Marx Brothers movie to me.

Taking a couple days off work to enjoy Spring Break with the kids off school. Also today celebrating our youngest kid’s birthday as she turns 16. (DMV appointment scheduled for this afternoon.)

Also: thanks to the MLB schedulers for ensuring the Cubs could get off to an 0-2 start with this Japan series. The Dodgers are going to win, what, 120 games this year? 130? This is ridiculous.

Thunderstorm woke me up at 5:30. Little bit of extra time for breakfast and coffee before work. Just working a half day today and then taking vacation the rest of the week to hang with the family during Spring Break. A break will be nice.

Well, that was a fun meeting to kick off the day. Time for another cup of coffee.

So nice of the internet to declare it’s a Pie Day just in time for my birthday!

I’ve been closer to 50 than 40 for a while now… Today I am closer to 50 than to 45. Still, it’s just a number.

On the upside, this conference room I’ve been sitting in all day has windows so I can see the sunshine outside.

On the down side, there’s sunshine outside and I’ve been sitting in this conference room all day.
