I set up Homebridge on my Synology last night and got it integrated with my OpenGarage device. Lo and behold, I’m getting notifications when my family opens and closes the garage door this morning! Now to get it integrated with all the smart lights… this could be addictive.

Got out for a run for the first time since last fall. Feels great to be in the fresh air again. Now to remember how to run with any pace. 😂

Routine thrown off this morning with a car in the shop. As I result I forgot to throw my iPad into my bag to bring to work. And no car means I can’t run home for it even if I wanted to. Let’s see how this day goes without it…

A week ago I upgraded from my old Apple Watch Series 8 to an Apple Watch Ultra 2. This is the watch I have been looking for. Bigger, better screen, improved sensors, ridiculous battery life. The retail price point is kinda bonkers but the used price for a like-new one was far more reasonable.

Decided I should take another run at some personal journaling. Three days in a row in DayOne isn’t a long streak, but hey, you gotta start somewhere.

2025 Reads: Incompleteness by Rebecca Goldstein 📚

A very readable biography of a very brilliant, sad character.

I’ve been pretty quiet online this week. Long week at work, frigid temps outside, feel like I’m just trying to keep my head above water. Really thankful it’s Friday.

2025 Reads: How to Make Sense of Any Mess by Abby Covert 📚

Fine, for what it was. More a pamphlet than a book…

2025 Reads: The World According to Physics by Jim Al-Khalili 📚

What a wonderful little book! As clearly written as you would hope for an intro, while not sacrificing depth.

2025 Reads: The MANIAC by Benjamin Labatut 📚

Phew, what a novel. Stunning stuff.
