Well, I had previously been positive about the Castro podcast app’s functionality on my Apple Watch. This last “bugfix”, though, broke it completely. Playback pauses every time the watch face goes dark. Support reply: “it’s on our roadmap eventually”. 😡

Just ran across a DayOne post from 9 years ago where one of my evangelical pastors was basically a Trump and slavery apologist and I wasn’t sure what to do with it.

How the hell did it take me four more years to leave that place?

Lesson learned from Monday. 7 hours of Zoom calls today for work? Don’t even bother going to the office. I’m set up on the patio, laptop, external monitor, hot coffee, fresh air, 54F going to 74F this afternoon. Bring it on.

Finally took the plunge and put the iOS 26 public beta on my phone. (I’ve had it on my iPad for weeks now.)

It’s… fine.

Beautiful pseudo-fall day here in Iowa. Got to the office, realized my day was 8 hours of Zoom calls.

Got a 30-minute break in the morning call. Grabbed my laptop, got in my car, drove back home.

Still have 6 hours more Zoom calls, but now from my patio. 1000% improvement.

A beautiful day, a new pair of shoes, and I think I finally figured out doing a Zone 2 run. That felt really good. Now I’ve got a week until the NewBo 10K. Maybe can sneak in 1 or 2 more short runs before that.
