Guess a rest and gym week was what I needed to get my running legs back underneath me. (Also: it’s been HOT.) First time out running in a week, 4 miles felt pretty comfortable this morning.

2025 Reads: Big Chief by Jon Hickey 📚

I like listening to piano pieces I could never manage to play, but there’s something awe-inspiring about listening to a recording of a piece I did study and play and marvel at what a world-class pianist can do with it. (Currently: Nobuyuki Tsujii’s recording of the Moonlight Sonata.)

Both happening this week: RAGBRAI and the Oshkosh air show. When you work at an Iowa aerospace company, it’s a very, very quiet week at the office.

Enjoyed a nice weekend in Nebraska visiting our oldest daughter who is working an internship there this summer. But after 7 hours in the car today, it’s definitely nice to be home, too.
