Catching up on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and just got to the musical episode. It’s like they crossed Glee with Star Trek and I am slightly embarrassed to admit how much I am HERE FOR IT.

Unpleasantly cold for an Iowa December this morning - currently 7F feels like -12F. But the office is warm, and there is coffee. And it’s supposed to be in the high 40s on Saturday?!?

2024 Reads: Black AF History: The Un-Whitewashed Story of America by Michael Harriot 📚

A wonderful, brilliant book. Harriot’s humor combined with his blunt recounting of a black perspective of American history is a must-read for white Americans like me.

Packing up the car this morning to visit my mom. First holiday season since my dad passed. Thankful that we have family and friends to share the day with tomorrow. It won’t make his absence any the less but will make it more bearable.

Good to see the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team finally get a little respect, ranked at #22 in this week’s AP poll. Without Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin they’re probably not a Final Four team again this year, but early on they look like they can still be B1G title contenders.

Look, Max and Red Bull Racing had a phenomenal year this year. But every article that trumpets him as a “four-time world champion” should have a giant asterisk next to it that says “Abu Dhabi 2021”. #F1

In the office this week for a couple of days before the Thanksgiving holiday. Have a feeling it’s gonna be really quiet in here. Time to get some work done!
